The Messy Easel is Michelle Brown's work and teaching space. The name came from her brother's childhood nickname for her, "Messy MIssy". Despite being an orderly and organized person, something happens in the process of creating that, well, leaves a bit of creative mess on the easel. It doesn't really seem to matter compared to fostering the creative process.

Michelle recalls first wanting to be an artist at the age of three. She studied art education in university and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She has been involved in the art community for many years, including shows in the Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, Kamloops and the Southern Ceriboo. Her works have been accepted in the Annual International Representation Show (AIRS) in Vancouver and the TNSC International Exhibition in Kamloops. She is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.

"I love art and sharing my learning experiences with others. The process of creating art is therapeutic. And did I mention it is just plain fun?"
